Home Restaurant – San Francisco
Welcome Home!
Recently I went to Home Restaurant at 2100 Market Street just before the Castro and had a pretty good dinner. We split the roasted local asparagus, Parma prosciutto, herb aioli and organic poached egg together. We thought the asparagus dish was quite yummy. Pictures below before and after the egg was broken into.
For some reason I tend to love a warm salad with a poached egg on top and seem to be ordering it more often. One of my favorite salads is the warm escarole salad with bacon bits and poached egg on top at Fringale. I love this very much the bitter green of the escarole goes very well together with the warm bacon bits and the poached egg. Yum! I also order this same salad at Jeanty At Jacks or Bistro Jeanty when I’m up in Yountville.
For dinner at Home Restaurant I had the burger in the photo below. By the time I got t to the burger I was already pretty full so I ate 1/3 of it and took the rest home for lunch the next day.
I have to say I still like going to Home Restaurant after all of these years. The food is pretty good and consistent. Their salads are great and my friend always raves about the pot roast which I have tried and it definitely is good too.
Peet’s Coffee 4th Street – San Francisco
I love my Peet’s Coffee and I’m so happy that we have one just around the corner from where I am. This Peet’s coffee is at 370 4th street between Harrison and Folsom. I go there as much as I can. I love their cappuccino’s as they make them pretty darn good!
The team at Peet’s on 4th is great too! Very friendly service.
If you are nearby make sure you stop in and order yourself something. Or bring your laptop with you and drink your coffee and type, type away as they have free wireless for 2 hours if you order a drink or something.
Carnelian Room San Francisco City Views
Recently I discovered the Carnelian Room for the first time and I’m so damn impressed by the view that I’ve already gone back a couple of times. Isn’t that crazy? I absolutely love it actually. It’s some of the best views you can get anywhere in the beautiful city of San Francisco. Trust me I’ve been to all and this is pretty damn amazing.
Ok the decor is a bit tired – you can’t help that it’s a classic place that’s been around for quite some time now but you can’t go wrong with the view. The View Lounge is open daily from 3pm Monday through Sunday. After work cocktails sounds good especially to catch some nice sunsets.
The Carnelian Room also offers fine dining! According to their website their menus start from $34 per person for lunch and $61 per person for dinner. There are several rooms you can dine in according to their website. The rooms are:
The Main Dining Room: Views of Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, Alcatraz, and the East Bay hills
The Bay Room: Views of the Bay Bridge, East Bay, ATT Park and San Jose
The Wine Room: Views of Bay Bridge, the East Bay and Financial District
There are several other rooms all available for private parties. Sounds like business can reserve those rooms for a great Christmas party or other similar event.
I totally recommend visiting the Carnelian Room at least once. It’s awesome and the servers are great. Cocktails are yummy – not too overpriced either. Man where the hell have I been that I have not gone to the Carnelian Room? I’ve lived in San Francisco for over 15 years and have missed.
So I know I’ll be a frequent visitor now!
Check out their website for more info about them!
