Free Bike The Golden Gate Podcast – Download Here!

Wednesday, June 10, 2009 13:03 No Comments

If you have missed the link to our Bike The Golden Gate Podcast you can get it here below. Download and listen and plot out your Bike The Golden Gate adventure. This is fun for visitors and locals. You can certainly stretch it out to a whole day but remember to not miss the ferry boat back from Suasalito or do it in half a day where it’s more about the exercise and the workout of the bike ride – your call. The fun part is that you get to ride a bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. How many people can say that they have done that?

Riding across the Golden Gate Bridge is such an exhilarating experience that I think everyone should do it.

Along the way you will see all the historic street cars that run here in San Francisco, you can stop at the Ferry Building, Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Musee Mecanique, Ghiradelli Square, Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, Crissy Field, St. Francis Yacht Club, the Wave Organ, the Presidio, Palace Of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Bridge, Fort Point, Marin Headlands and on down to Suasalito. Ferry back to San Francisco and along the way you’ll see Alcatraz, Angel Island.

These are very popular spots so bring your camera along with you and enjoy the ride.

San Francisco Fireworks 2000

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 14:39 No Comments

I love these flashback firework shots on the San Francisco Bay. I had captured it perfectly unprepared. This was back in 2000 sometime, I believe most likely a Summer eve and a celebration of some kind. It’s not the ballpark as that would have been more south from this view so I don’t really know what the celebration was and why the fireworks took place. It could have even been 4th of July but up in Diamond Heights where I shot this it would have been fogged it. Usually the case with 4th of July in San Francisco. Who knows though as I dig through my old photographs I dig up cool historic shots like these.

I was glad to have captured these shots though as I laid my camera down on something and set the timer on and voila these images were taken.

Some Great Sunrise Shots of San Francisco Bay

Monday, April 13, 2009 16:44 No Comments

I shot these from Diamond Heights some time ago but always love looking at them. These were shot quite early in the morning so that’s why they look quite golden like this. Very bright and vivid!! Up from a rooftop in the Diamond Heights neighborhood of San Francisco.

These are pretty nice shots looking onto the Transamerica building and beyond including Coit Tower in some of the shots and Alcatraz Island and beyond. If you look closely you can even see North Beach well not very well but you can catch a bit of it in one or two of the shots.

I shot these from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the Financial District a couple of months back and it definitely deserves another round of photos because their windows were quite dirty. Perhaps some late evening/dusk shots right before the sun goes in all the way would turn out nice? Since we’re now having our real summer in San Francisco I might have to go back and try these then and hopefully the windows are cleaner. These are nice to start with though … don’t you think?
