Spamalot At Golden Gate Theatre
Friday, June 19, 2009 0:59Art Deco Palace? The Golden Gate Theatre opened in 1922 as a vaudeville theatre but later became a major movie theatre. For several decades it stayed the way it was showing movies after movies. In the 1960s it boasted a Cinerama screen. Unfortunately though by the 1970s it’s popularity had declined and began showing blaxploitation films. But by the end of the 1970’s it was restored and it reopened as a performance arts venue. Over the years I’ve seen posters for so many shows including Hairspray, Chicago, Mamma Mia!, Rent, Legally Blonde: The Musical and so many more.
Spamalot seems to be a pretty popular show so was walking past the theatre the other day and thought to take some pics.
The Golden Gate Theatre is located at 1 Taylor Street at Golden Gate Avenue?
