City Of Paris / Neiman Marcus Magnificent Stained Glass Ceiling

It's beautiful and it's right at the corner of Stockton and Geary streets in San Francisco's Union Square.

I love to just wander into Neiman Marcus and look up at the ceiling and think that I'm in Paris. The City Of Paris store was modeled after the many beautiful and grand department stores in Paris so I always feel like I'm in Paris when I step inside Neiman Marcus.

For something fun you should go to Neiman Marcus and try out their rotunda restaurant. It's quite beautiful and the food is great. It's best around the holidays ... a great experience!

Transamerica Building - Various Angles

I love to take photograph the Transamerica Building in all different angles. It gives you a different feel from the various angles and yet it looks just the same. Anyway these were shot in the Financial District and North Beach.

The Hobart Building - Market Street, San Francisco

The Hobart Building is one of my favorite buildings in San Francisco. When I look at it all I see is how San Francisco could have been 50 - 75 years ago. It's a beautiful building and very classic. The Hobart Building was completed in 1914 by the architect Willis Polk.

St. Francis Theatres - Market Street

St. Francis Theatres is now closed for I believe a decade but the remains still exist. I thought I should snap some pics of it since I'm sure they are going to take it down someday. It's always nice to have some great record shots of the different neighborhoods in San Francisco and of structures businesses pictures you've shot because they are not around any longer. They definitely will come in handy one day!

I love this shot of the Ferry Building just after the rain. I shot this several years ago and still do love it. I love the golden hue of the light reflecting on the wet ground. Perfect!

Maple Hall Building - Walgreens Polk Street, San Francisco

What is Maple Hall? When you look at the very top of the Walgreens building at 1524 Polk Street you'll see Maple Hall. I've been researching about Maple Hall online and the only thing I found was a thread on a forum mentioning that Polk Street had dance halls back in the day. There's also an article below that mentions jazz pioneer Jelly Roll Morton used to perform at Maple Hall on Polk street. I'm very curious to know what the inside of 1524 Polk street looked like before it was Walgreens. If anyone knows would love to find out.

Alright, I'm obsessed with the Palace Hotel ... well not really but I do think it's a beautiful building and it's got a lot of history. I also love the sign right above the hotel. It looks great all lit up at night. Once I get a good photo of it at night I'll definitely post it here on San Francisco Photos but for now we'll just do with this pic.

Check out this great article on Wikipedia about the Palace Hotel in San Francisco ...

It's a beautiful old brick building and it houses a Starbucks and a Gordon Biersch on the street level. The building is located at 2 Harrison Street at the Embarcadero in the South Beach neighborhood. It was built in 1926.

Yerba Buena Park - SOMA, San Francisco

I like the composition and colors of this shot. I shot this right next to Mo's Grill in Yerba Buena Park. Mo's has great burgers and they make it in many styles so definitely worth trying out. They also have another location in North Beach which I believe is their main store.

Fugazi Building - Financial District, San Francisco

The Fugazi Building at 415 Sansome Street houses The London Wine Bar which happens to be Americas First Wine Bar. I believe there's also a second business if not more in the Fugazi Building being Sansome Dental.

I happened to be right in front of the Fugazi Building one evening after seeing a movie at Embarcadero Cinemas and shot this picture with a very fast moving Yellow Taxi Cab. I just love the way this shot came out ... although it's quite dark it has a great feel.

Audiffred Building/Boulevard Restaurant - Embarcadero, San Franisco

The Audiffred building is a beautiful Parisian style building dating back to the late 1800's. It stands out as one of my favorite older buildings in San Francisco. It's right on the Embarcadero and across from the Hotel Vitale and it houses the restaurant Boulevard. The Audiffred Building is in the National Registry of historic places in San Francisco.

I have a couple of links to some historic information about the Audifredd building below and a link to Boulevard.
