Grubstake Open Til 4 Am
I haven’t been to Grubstake for quite some time … It’s been a while - the late 90’s I believe but was passing by recently and I thought I’d snap a couple of pics. It still looks the same. The first time I went there was when I first moved here around 93/94 and it was after a long night of clubbing and you know they are open until 4am so it was perfect to stop for a burger and fries. Yum.
Check out their Web site as it’s got their history. Apparently there was another location where the Parc 55 Hotel is now. Also there’s a portion of the Grubstake that was used as a real rail car that went between Berkeley, Oakland and across the Bay Bridge to San Francisco. Pretty amazing history. I think it’s time to go back and revisit the Grubstake!
