Top 10 Reasons You Have To Visit San Francisco

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 2:21 No Comments

San Francisco is such a wonderful place to live in. I absolutely love living here and wouldn’t live anywhere else in the world. I decided to put together this list of Top 10 Reasons You Have To Visit San Francisco together because I think everyone that lives in the USA should visit San Francisco at least once if not more than once.

Below is the list why I love it here and why you should visit and fall in love with San Francisco as well.

1. The Weather:

San Francisco boasts some of the best weather anywhere in the world. It’s usually cooler here in San Francisco than just outside of the city of San Francisco and because of this it makes it very comfortable to live here year round. No real long heat waves ever happen here but occasionally once or twice a year we’ll have a 2 or 3 day heat wave. All of a sudden though the weather changes and the fog takes over and cools off the city. It’s quite amazing and I love San Francisco because of this.

2. The Food:

Because of the great diversity here in San Francisco, one can discover a great new cuisine from anywhere in the world. is a top leader in culinary discovery. One can find a great restaurant highlighting the cuisine from any country in the world, and they do it well.

3. The Shopping:

Some of the best shopping to be had is in San Francisco. The Union Square area of San Francisco is one of the country’s largest shopping neighborhoods in all of the USA. You can find all your favorites like the Gap, Levi’s and Sephora. As well as Neiman’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s. You’ll also find some obscure little known boutiques in Union Square or the San Francisco Centre or in one San Francisco’s popular neighborhoods like the Mission district or Pacific Heights.

4. The Walking:

San Francisco is a walking city so bring your walking shoes and leave your car at home. And if you get tired of walking and exploring (which I’m sure you wont) you can take any of the public transportation choices available. See below.

5. The Public Transportation:

San Francisco has one of the best Public Transporation systems in all of the USA. So many different choices are available to get you around the city including buses, street cars, underground and above ground Muni trains, BART and faerie boats will all move you around and get you to your desired locations.

6. The Culture:

San Francisco is a melting pot of culture – how else will you find such great food to eat here – it’s becaue of the diversity that exists here in San Francisco.

7. The Entertainment:

From broadway shows, to sports events, to concerts, San Francisco is a world class city when it comes to entertainment. And with some of the best venues with a long history like the Fillmore, the Warfield, The Castro Theatre or the Golden Gate Theatre to see these shows, events or concerts it makes the city of San Francisco a world class city for entertainment.

8. The San Francisco Hills:

The San Francisco Hills add a unique beauty to the city and give it it’s signature look. Remember the film Bullitt and the TV show The Streets Of San Francisco? Then you’ll probably remember the streets of San Francisco. There are some famous shots of San Francisco hills overlooking the bay and Bay Bridge

9. The Hotels:

You’ll have so many choices of hotels to pick from when it comes to selecting the hotel you want to stay at in San Francisco. From big luxury hotels to cute, chic tiny boutique hotels. Just do a little search here on SFPhotorama.com at Hotels and you’ll have lots of reviewed hotels on here.

10. Voted #1 city to visit in the USA year after year for 18 years straight by Conde Nast Magazine.

Top Ten Views In San Francisco

Friday, June 5, 2009 2:02 3 Comments

San Francisco is a very beautiful city. There’s so much to see in San Francsico and to be treated to a wonderful view is such a bonus. The below list is my ultimate favorite list of the top ten views in San Francisco. These places are some of the spots to see the best views of the city. These views are all spread out throughout the city but most of the places are very easily accessed.

This list of the Top Ten Views In San Francisco is perfect for any visitor wanting to capture some great shots of the best views in San Francisco. Go visit and take a bunch of shots.

The Carnelian Room is right in the middle of the Financial District. The view is awesome and depending on where you are sitting you will get shots of huge skyscrapers all around you while sipping a martini. The tallest building or almost the tallest in the city it could have changed already with all the buildings going up these days. The Top Of The Mark is right up on Nob Hill so you’ll be really up high the hill with views down to Market Street or the other side with views to the bay. Twin Peaks is up Market Street way up the hill right next to Sutro Tower. Here at Twin Peaks you will have the best view of the entire city of San Francisco. This is a very popular spot and free to visit. You will need a car to get here though. If you have the car with you you might as well go to Treasure Island and catch the view onlooking to the city. It’s an awesome view especially when it’s perfectly clear. I would make sure to go there later afternoon so you can get a more dramatic lighting effect. Treasure Island is the best view of the San Francisco skyline.

The 39th Floor At The Marriott Hotel also has a nice view because you get a very perfect view of the Bay Bridge surrounded by the giant skyscrapers. It’s nice and the cocktails are nice too. Although the prices are a bit high sometimes you just have to do it for an awesome view. On the Golden Gate Bridge there are many different views to be captured looking at the city. They are a bit too far but still cool

Off the Coit Tower the views are pretty nice too. The remainder of the list of views are definitely worth exploring as well. So make sure you have enough time to go to see everyone of these places

1. Carnelian Room at 555 California Street
2. Top Of The Mark 999 California Street
3. Twin Peaks 501 Twin Peaks Blvd.
4. Treasure Island Overlooking San Francisco Skyline
5. 39th Floor At The Marriott Hotel
If you want to book a hotel and stay at the Marriott book it through SanFranciscoHotels.net
6. Off The Golden Gate Bridge Overlooking The Bay And San Francisco Skyline
7. Coit Tower At 1 Telegraph Hill Blvd.
8. Lyon Street Steps At Green Street
9. Grandviews Lounge at Hyatt Grand Hotel 345 Stockton Street
10. DeYoung Museum Tower Views At 75 Tea Garden Dr
